Access Allround was contracted to design, supply, and install a custom ramp and step unit at a newly established Home Office Immigration Centre. This project required a solution that not only facilitated smooth and safe access for all users but also adhered strictly to the rigorous standards set forth by building regulations and public safety requirements.
Scope of Work: The project involved the installation of a 4-step unit accompanied by a durable ramp, designed to accommodate a diverse range of users, including those with mobility impairments. Given the high foot traffic anticipated at this facility, it was essential that the ramp and steps were built to withstand continuous use while providing optimal safety.
Material and Design Specifications:
- Ramp and Step Unit: Constructed using high-quality, weather-resistant materials, the 4-step unit and ramp were designed to integrate seamlessly with the existing architecture of the centre. - Surface Finish: The ramp and steps were finished with a specially chosen rubber crumb surface, known for its durability and slip-resistant properties.
