Access Allround was contacted by a homeowner who required a safe and practical ramp installation to the front garden area of their property. The solution needed to provide flexible access routes while working around existing external features, including the gas meter box positioned along the wall.
Scope of Work
The project involved the supply and installation of a modular ramp system to the front garden. The design required two exit points to allow access to both the rear of the property and the driveway. A large level platform was to be installed at the doorway to provide sufficient space for the user to safely rest while opening and closing the door. The ramp layout also needed to accommodate a gas box located to the side of the property.
Installation
Platform Installation
A spacious level platform was installed at the entrance to ensure there was adequate room to manoeuvre and safely operate the door.
Ramp Construction
A modular ramp system was fitted within the front garden area, designed to provide smooth and reliable access.
Dual Exit Design
Two exit points were incorporated into the ramp layout, enabling convenient access to both the rear of the property and the driveway.
Bespoke Handrail Adaptation
To work around the existing gas box, a bespoke handrail was carefully designed to terminate at the start of the box and then continue beyond it. This ensured compliance and safety while maintaining a practical and seamless layout.
Outcome
The completed installation provides a safe, versatile and well-planned access solution tailored to the property’s layout. By incorporating dual exits, a generous level platform and a bespoke handrail design, the project successfully enhanced accessibility without compromising functionality or safety.
